Allegri looking to raid old club for midfield enforcer

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly interested in signing former player Thiago Motta from current club Spezia.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly interested in signing former player Thiago Motta from current club Spezia.

Motta, who played for Juventus from 2010 to 2012, has been in impressive form for Spezia this season, helping the Serie A newcomers to a respectable mid-table position.

According to reports in Italy, Allegri is a big admirer of Motta's leadership qualities and his ability to protect the back four.

Motta is also seen as a potential replacement for Miralem Pjanic, who left Juventus for Barcelona last summer.

Juventus are reportedly willing to offer Motta a two-year contract worth around €3 million per year.

It remains to be seen whether Motta will be interested in a move back to Juventus, but he would certainly be a valuable addition to Allegri's squad.
